Born in Argentina, Cecilia Castagneto is one of the most promising conductors of her generation. She cultivates with passion the entire spectrum from Beethoven to contemporary music.

As a guest conductor she has been invited to work with orchestras such as Duisburger Philharmoniker, Funkhausorchester WDR, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Helsingborger Symphonieorchester, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Filharmonia Szczecin, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen.

Cecilia Castagneto has worked from 2018 to 2022 as Music Director of the “Studio Orchester Duisburg” and focussed on the repertoire of the romantic period and the beginning of the 20th century.

From 2012 to 2016 she was co-founder and artistic director of the Octans Ensemble. She conducted all the productions with works by Wagner, Mahler, Poulenc, Debussy, Stravinsky, as well as contemporary music and world premieres by young contemporary composers.
